First Holy Communion and Reconciliation 2019-20

Thursday 12 September 2019

Following the summer break, our Partnership community within Heavenfield will begin to prepare children for First Reconciliation (Confession) and First Holy Communion. This programme of preparation is open to all baptised Catholic children in Year Four and above. Should you judge your child to be ready to make this important step, please could you indicate your interest by completing the application form and returning it to the Parish Office before Friday 4th October.

Copies of the application form, together with a letter from our Partnership Dean, Fr. Christopher Warren and a copy of the programme schedule can be downloaded here.

This year the sessions will be delivered on three Saturday mornings by our catechists. In addition, the children are expected to attend Mass every Sunday; there are seven Masses to choose from each weekend, celebrated throughout Sundays and on Saturday evenings across the local parishes. On some Sundays during the course, there will be a special Liturgy during the Sunday Mass for our children to actively participate in.

Once we have received your child’s details, we will arrange a date for an informal meeting, allowing you to meet the clergy and to outline the programme.

We look forward to meeting you all and accompanying your family in your child’s journey towards First Reconciliation and receiving Jesus for the first time in the awesome gift of the Eucharist.
